The story of Fisuburger begins with two people who wanted to spend more time together.

Eemeli did outreach youth work and Anni worked as an entrepreneur in the sports industry. There were too few moments together. The idea began to simmer: if Eemeli became an entrepreneur, we could build our everyday lives together.

Eemeli studied to be a fishing guide alongside his job, graduated and headed to the waves of Lake Saimaa to take tourists fishing. The pandemic stopped everything – foreign customers disappeared. That's when they started organizing trips for Finnish children and young people, and the enthusiasm remained… until war broke out in Europe and tourism stopped again.

 

At the same time, a local gas station asked for fresh Puula fish to sell. There was a lot of demand, but sales of the round fish were not enough. Eemeli thought: what if I filleted the fish myself and made a ready-made dish out of it?

 

That's when chef friend Tatu stepped in, designing Fisu's first fish burger recipe just a week before the opening. When Eemeli took the first bite, everyone knew: this is going to be good!

 

The barbecue cart, bought with the last of the savings, was pulled to the Kangasniemi beach market. No one knew if anyone would buy a fish burger – but people came. And came again. “From the snare drum to the table” began to come true.

 

Today, Fisuburger has grown into Kangasniemi's own lake fishmonger: pure flavors from Puula, hand-gutted fish, domestic ingredients and food made with heart. The story continues every day – from the fishing waters to the kitchen and from there to you.
